A Cross Country Adventure

In September of 2006 my husband and I set off on a grand adventure. We made a trip across our great nation, 8,000 miles in three weeks.

I had a book in my heart, but before I could write it I needed to visit the places my adventurous characters would be traveling. I've never had so much fun, and as Greg and I made our way across the country I recorded the journey.  We discovered beauty and diversity beyond our imagination.

In honor of my new release, To Dance With Dolphins I'd like to revisit that special time and take you along with me. Over the next several days, I'm reposting my journal and I hope you'll join me as, once again, I travel across this fabulous country.

At the end of each day I will have a prize to give away. Make sure to stop in, check out my latest travel entry and answer the day's question for a chance to WIN that day's prize.

This is a photo of Greg and I just before we set out.
We were sure a lot younger.

HERE WE GO ...

Friday September 29, 2006

"This is a great day! I'm launching my new website and setting out on a cross country adventure!

I've got a book that's screaming at me to be written, but first I've got to see the places my characters will visit. So, today I'm off. I'll be traveling from Oregon to Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Kentucky and Tennessee, and then I'll head down to Georgia and Florida, travel across Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas and New Mexico and then cut through Arizona and finally head north into California and then home to Oregon. There's so much to see it boggles the mind.

I'm counting on meeting lots of fascinating people and I'll be handing out free copies of books from the Queensland Chronicles. I can't wait to discover the country. I know I'll find treasures that will fit perfectly with my story and that seeing the country will stir up all kinds of story ideas. If you know of a place I ought to visit let me know. I'll do my best to get there.

Bye for now. As I travel I'll continue to visit here and keep you updated on my latest adventures. It ought to be fun."

That was our beginning all those years ago, and today's question is, What U.S. location would you most like to visit? Make sure to leave your answer along with your email address so I can contact you. My first prize is a FREE copy of book one in the Queensland Chronicles, The Heart of Thornton Creek.

I'll announce all winners at the end of the journey ... nine days from now.  Happy trails!

Grace and peace to you from God,

Bonnie
